Separate unlock research from efficiency research
Some nodes open a new capability while others improve speed, capacity, combat stats, or economy. Mark the unlock you are chasing first, then compare efficiency nodes by how much they help that route.
Plan around prerequisites
Research trees often gate later nodes behind earlier levels. Recording progress by tree and node prevents an attractive late upgrade from hiding several prerequisite investments.
Protect rare research materials
When badges or other scarce research items are required, reserve them for the route that advances the current objective. Avoid spending a rare material simply because a lower-priority node is available.
Use research speed correctly
A research-speed bonus changes time, not the underlying resource cost. Keep time savings separate from resource and badge totals so the planner does not make a faster upgrade look cheaper than it is.
Review research after HQ or season changes
New HQ levels and seasons can change which research matters most. Revisit saved priorities after major unlocks so old goals do not keep consuming resources after a stronger route becomes available.
